Why the Acute Injury Protocol Works
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Saturates blood plasma with oxygen under pressure, supporting circulation and tissue repair where swelling has slowed normal blood flow.
Protocol Specific Pressure
The chamber pressure is set for what you are recovering from. Acute injury and concussion run different profiles, and yours is decided at your Initial Health Assessment.
PEMF Therapy
Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy applied over the injured area to help stimulate local circulation.
What the Acute Injury Protocol Is For
Soft tissue injuries and the heavy days that follow hard efforts. This is supportive care for recovery, and it works alongside whoever is managing the injury. It is not a substitute for imaging or urgent care.
Sprains and Strains
Ankles, knees, shoulders and the everyday tweaks that take longer than they should.
Pulled and Overloaded Muscles
Hamstrings, calves, quads and the rest of what gives out mid-effort.
After a Race or Tournament
Multi-day events and heavy training blocks where the recovery debt piles up.
Hard Landings and Impacts
Falls, collisions and the deep soreness that follows.
Swelling and Stiffness
Tissue that is inflamed and not moving the way it did last week.
Compensation Patterns
Because you have been favoring it for a week and something else is starting to complain.
The 4-Step Acute Injury Protocol
Same-Week Assessment
Your Initial Health Assessment, where we confirm the protocol fits, set the chamber pressure, and give you an honest read on whether you should be somewhere else first.
Five Daily HBOT Sessions
One hour a day, five days straight, while the tissue is still in its early recovery window.
Three PEMF Sessions
Localized paddle over the injured area, layered across the same five days.
Return-to-Activity Plan
What to load, what to leave alone, and whether a second week is worth running. If deeper healing is warranted, the protocol repeats.
A Rapid Recovery Protocol by Design
The Acute Injury Protocol is one of Aervita’s Rapid Recovery Protocols, a standardized, pre-developed program using only our core health technology in a fixed sequence. It is deliberately short. If pain keeps coming back rather than clearing, that is a different problem, and our Root Cause Programs are built for it.
Acute Injury Protocol Pricing
One bundled price for the full week. Booked separately these sessions run $1,037, so bundling saves you $340, more than 30%. Pay in full, split it into monthly payments, or apply for third party financing.
New to us? The Initial Health Assessment comes first. If you have not been seen at Aervita for this injury, the $84 Initial Health Assessment is required before the protocol starts. It is a 40 minute visit with our doctor of chiropractic, and it is where we make sure you are not better served somewhere else first.

Acute Injury Recovery FAQ
Where can I get acute injury recovery near me?
Aervita is located in Edina, MN and treats patients from across the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro and western Wisconsin.
How fast can I start the acute injury protocol?
Usually the same week, which is the entire point. Call us at 952-213-6386 and we will find you five consecutive days.
Do I need the Initial Health Assessment first?
Yes, if we have not seen you here for this already. The $84 Initial Health Assessment is required before the protocol starts, and it is a 40 minute visit with our doctor of chiropractic. Existing patients we have already assessed for this can go straight in. We would rather spend forty minutes finding out this is not the right fit than take your money and hope.
When should an acute injury go to urgent care instead?
If you have an obvious fracture or dislocation, a wound that will not stop bleeding, or you cannot bear weight, go be seen first. We would rather turn you away for a day than treat around something that needs imaging.
Where does hyperbaric oxygen fit in acute injury care?
Research suggests hyperbaric oxygen supports circulation and tissue repair, which matters most where swelling has compromised normal blood flow. It is offered here as supportive care alongside whoever is managing your injury.
How does PEMF fit in?
PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic field therapy. A localized paddle is placed over the injured area and used to help stimulate circulation between hyperbaric sessions. Sessions run about twenty minutes.
Why is there no red light in the acute injury protocol?
Because it is one week. Red light rewards consistency over a longer arc, so we put the budget into daily hyperbaric sessions instead. Our longer protocols include it.
How much does the Acute Injury Protocol cost?
The full one week intensive is $697. Booked session by session the same care runs $1,037, so bundling saves $340, more than 30%. Pay in full, choose a monthly payment plan, or apply for third party financing. Everyone starts with an $84 Initial Health Assessment.
How is the acute injury protocol different from the Concussion Protocol?
The session counts are the same. What changes is the chamber pressure, which we set for what you are recovering from. Which protocol you are on is decided at your Initial Health Assessment, and the price is the same either way.
Is the acute injury protocol a replacement for physical therapy?
Physical therapy focuses on movement, loading and strength. This protocol uses hyperbaric oxygen and PEMF to support the tissue environment while you heal. The two work well together and neither replaces the other.
Can I keep training during the week?
That depends entirely on the injury, and it is one of the things we settle at your assessment. Sometimes the answer is rest, sometimes it is modified loading.
Can I repeat the protocol?
Yes. If deeper healing is warranted the intensive runs again, and for a bigger injury a second week is often the right call. Your reassessment is where we decide that. If the problem turns out to be recurring rather than acute, we will point you at something better suited instead.
Is this covered by insurance?
Coverage varies by provider and plan. Our team can walk you through your options at your assessment.
What is a "Rapid Recovery Protocol"?
A short, standardized course of our health technology. Same sequence for every patient, no session-by-session personalization, which is what lets it start fast and be priced as a bundle.
What counts as an acute injury?
Sprains, strains, muscle and tendon tears, post fracture healing once you are out of the cast or boot, surgical wounds, stubborn skin wounds and crush type injuries all qualify. The common thread is recent tissue damage that your body is actively trying to repair.
If you are not sure whether your situation fits the acute injury protocol, call us and describe what happened. If a different course would serve you better, we will point you there at the assessment.
Can I repeat the acute injury protocol if I am still healing?
Yes. One week is the standard course, and for a mild sprain or strain it is often all people want. A more significant acute injury sometimes calls for a second week, and the reassessment at the end of your first course is where we make that call together.
Repeating the acute injury protocol is not automatic. We look at how the tissue is responding, what your provider or physical therapist is seeing, and how you feel day to day. If a session package makes more sense than a full second course, we will recommend that instead, because it is usually the less expensive path.
Either way, you leave the reassessment with a plan: continue, step down to individual sessions, or be done. An acute injury heals on its own timeline, and the schedule should follow the tissue rather than the calendar. That is also why the protocol pairs daily hyperbaric time with PEMF instead of forcing every injury into an identical plan.

What Patients Say About Injury Recovery
I tried the PEMF and infrared therapy. Felt an incredible difference in my elbow with the PEMF. I suffered a dislocation in my elbow and haven't been able to extend it fully without pain, after the PEMF my pain was gone at that end range and it felt like I had never dislocated it. The infrared was rejuvenating and relaxing. I meditated while laying there, highly recommend. Muscle sorenesses also went away!! Super great people here aswell, very knowledgeable and ready to inform!

My foot swelled up after taking a puck to the top of the skate and after one Hyperbaric Oxygen Session I could walk without any pain.

I came to Aervita after a car accident that left me with a number of injuries including an eye socket laceration. I needed to do more than "put ointment on it" as the medical doctor recommended. Fortunately, I had recently been exploring red light therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy for optimal health, and I came across Aervita.
The team has been amazing! They are always very friendly, inviting, reassuring, and nonjudgmental. My entire body feels better after ten plus hyperbaric oxygen "dives" and a handful of red light sessions. My eye wound has healed remarkably and I am very pleased with the results. I highly recommend Aervita for your health optimization, wound healing, or other condition!

Dr. Jaron is the best!!! I threw my back out and he took the time to help figure out what could be causing the problem and work to heal functionally. I left with more mobility than when I walked in and the knowledge to to continue to help speed the healing process. Highly recommend!!!!

Love Aervita! Staff is very knowledgeable & helpful and go above and beyond to make sure you are getting the right care! I started Redlight & PEMF 2 months before a total knee replacement & my recovery was amazing! I could do a full bicycle rotation before my 2 week follow up. The redlight & PEMF has really helped in my muscle recovery and every day well being! I highly recommend
